Job Summary:
The Senior Level Data Scientist will be a key contributor to the DoD initiatives, focusing on the development and implementation of advanced data analytics and machine learning solutions. This role involves leveraging statistical analysis, machine learning techniques, and data-driven methodologies to enhance the Department of Defense's (DoD) capabilities in decision-making and operational efficiency.
Key Responsibilities:
- Data Analysis: Conduct exploratory data analysis to identify trends, patterns, and insights from large datasets.
- Model Development: Design, build, and validate machine learning models to solve specific operational problems within the DoD’s Search Portfolio.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including software engineers, data engineers, and product managers to integrate data science solutions into applications.
- Research & Innovation: Stay current with emerging technologies and methodologies in data science and AI; apply innovative approaches to enhance existing capabilities.
- Documentation & Reporting: Prepare detailed documentation of methodologies, findings, and recommendations; present results to stakeholders at various levels.
Skills/Qualifications Required:
- Education: Master’s degree in data science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, or a related field; Ph.D. preferred.
- Clearance Requirements: Active Top Secret (TS) clearance with Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI) eligibility
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in data science or a related field with a focus on machine learning and statistical analysis.
- Proven experience in developing and deploying machine learning models in production environments.
- Familiarity with big data technologies such as Apache Spark or Databricks is advantageous.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Python or R; experience with libraries like TensorFlow, Py Torch, or Scikit-learn.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex datasets and communicate findings effectively.
- Experience with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure) for deploying data solutions.
