Job Summary:
We are seeking a Mid-Level Software Developer to design, build, enhance, and sustain modern enterprise web applications within a mission-driven environment. This is a hands-on development role supporting an established production application and working collaboratively within an Agile sprint team.

The ideal candidate will have full-stack development experience spanning modern front-end frameworks and Node.js backend services. This individual will be responsible for delivering sprint-committed user stories from design and development through automated testing, peer review, and release. The role requires strong technical fundamentals, secure coding practices, attention to quality, and the ability to quickly become productive within an existing application and codebase.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, test, enhance, and maintain modern front-end components and Node.js backend services based on defined user stories and acceptance criteria
  • Analyze requirements with business analysts and product stakeholders and translate them into technical designs and implementation tasks
  • Develop, integrate, and support RESTful APIs and integrations with internal and external systems
  • Write clean, secure, maintainable, and well-documented code following established development standards, OWASP guidance, and dependency management practices
  • Identify and remediate application vulnerabilities surfaced through automated CI/CD pipelines
  • Write and maintain automated unit and integration tests and support QA testing activities
  • Troubleshoot and resolve application defects, production incidents, and performance issues
  • Participate in peer code reviews and support the promotion of application builds through development, testing, staging, and production environments
  • Ensure user-facing applications meet Section 508 and applicable accessibility requirements
  • Participate in daily standups, sprint planning, backlog refinement, sprint reviews, and retrospectives
  • Maintain accurate work item status, estimates, and technical documentation
  • Create and maintain technical documentation, design artifacts, and implementation guides
  • Mentor junior developers and share technical knowledge across the development team
  • Utilize approved AI-assisted development tools to improve development productivity and code quality
  • Support application demonstrations and user acceptance testing activities as required

Qualifications & Required Skills:

  • U.S. citizenship required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field
  • 3–6 years of professional experience developing enterprise web applications, including both front-end and service-layer development
  • Experience developing applications using Angular, React, Vue, or a comparable modern front-end framework
  • Strong proficiency in TypeScript, JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS
  • Working proficiency with Node.js and developing or consuming RESTful APIs
  • Experience working with relational databases and writing SQL queries
  • Practical experience with Git-based version control, branching strategies, and merge request-driven code reviews
  • Experience developing and maintaining automated unit tests
  • Experience working within automated CI/CD pipelines
  • Familiarity with application security, performance optimization, and secure coding principles
  • Demonstrated experience working within Agile or Scrum development environments with defined sprint commitments
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a favorable suitability determination for a moderate-risk Public Trust position
  • Ability to support core working hours of 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM Eastern, Monday through Friday, with occasional after-hours support for releases and production incidents

Preferred Qualifications & Skills:

  • Hands-on experience with Angular and TypeScript, including component architecture, reactive forms, and RxJS
  • Experience developing applications within Federal Government environments
  • Experience developing and deploying applications within AWS cloud environments
  • Experience with microservices and micro frontend architectures
  • Experience with Jira, GitLab, Jenkins, Bitbucket, Azure DevOps, or comparable software development and CI/CD tools
  • Experience developing automated tests using Jest, Jasmine/Karma, or similar frameworks
  • Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker
  • Experience supporting production applications, including troubleshooting and incident resolution
  • Familiarity with NIST 800-53, FISMA, DISA STIGs, or similar security and compliance requirements as they relate to application development
  • CompTIA Security+ CE or another DoD 8570/8140-approved IAT Level II certification
  • AWS Certified Developer – Associate or comparable cloud certification
  • Existing Federal suitability determination or active Federal background investigation
  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related STEM field
