Job Summary:
We are seeking a talented DevSecOps Engineer to join our team on a critical Department of Defense (DoD) project. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for collaborating with the Cloud Architect, Software Engineering SMEs, Cybersecurity Cloud Engineer, and other team members to design, build, and operate secure, scalable, and resilient CI/CD environments in alignment with DoD CIO DevSecOps Reference Design. This role places a strong emphasis on Kubernetes-based containerized platforms, focusing on automation, infrastructure as code, and security best practices.

This role places a strong emphasis on Kubernetes-based containerized platforms, focusing on automation, infrastructure as code, and security best practices.
Job Responsibilities:
- Design, deploy, and manage Kubernetes clusters (EKS or equivalent) to support microservices-based application architectures.
- Build and maintain container images using Docker and Helm; implement versioning, scanning, and secure distribution workflows.
- Develop, maintain, and scale GitLab CI/CD pipelines for infrastructure and application delivery.
- Implement GitOps workflows using tools like ArgoCD or Flux for continuous delivery into Kubernetes environments.
- Collaborate across teams to ensure Kubernetes workloads are secure, monitored, and resilient.
- Automate provisioning of infrastructure and platform services using Terraform and Ansible.
- Embed security practices in the CI/CD pipeline, including container image scanning, attestation, and signing (e.g., with Cosign).
- Monitor container workloads and cluster health; respond to performance issues and incidents.
- Contribute to evolving platform standards, containerization strategies, and infrastructure blueprints.
Skills / Qualifications Required:
3+ years in roles with the following experience:
- Deploying and managing containerized applications with Kubernetes (EKS, GKE, or OpenShift).
- Strong proficiency with Docker, Helm, and container image lifecycle management.
- Creating and managing CI/CD pipelines using GitLab CI, runners, and YAML-based workflow design.
- Infrastructure-as-Code using Terraform, with a focus on AWS environments.
- GitOps deployment strategies using ArgoCD, Flux, or similar tools.
- Implementing automated testing and security scanning in CI/CD pipelines (SAST, DAST).
- Familiarity with DevSecOps frameworks, especially the DoD DevSecOps Reference Architecture.
- Security Clearance Requirement: TS SCI
- Secure cloud infrastructure design aligned with NIST Risk Management Framework.
- Experience with package managers such as Maven, Gradle, npm, or PyPI.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Expertise in securing containerized workloads (e.g., Pod Security Policies, Network Policies, RBAC).
- Experience with container security tools such as Trivy, Twistlock, NeuVector, and Cosign/Sigstore.
- Helm chart development and Helmfile usage.
- Knowledge of SOPS for secrets management in GitOps workflows.
- Familiarity with DoD PKI/PKE, SBOM management, and software attestations.
- Experience using SonarQube, Fortify, and Semgrep for static/dynamic code analysis.
- Working knowledge of Ansible, JIRA, and Confluence for automation and documentation.
- Understanding of Zero Trust, defense-in-depth, and least-privilege access models.
