Job Summary:
We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist / ML Engineer to support the development and deployment of advanced machine learning solutions in a cloud-based data environment. This role will focus on building scalable AI/ML models, developing reproducible data pipelines, and ensuring responsible AI practices. The ideal candidate will bring strong experience in model development, feature engineering, and cloud-based analytics platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and deploy machine learning models to support mission analytics and decision support.
  • Develop and maintain reproducible ML pipelines for training, testing, and deployment.
  • Perform feature engineering, algorithm optimization, and model evaluation.
  • Work with structured and unstructured datasets to support predictive analytics.
  • Implement scalable data processing and ML workflows within cloud-based environments.
  • Ensure models and datasets comply with FAIR principles and responsible AI practices.
  • Support data governance, bias detection, and model transparency initiatives.
  • Collaborate with engineers, analysts, and stakeholders to deliver data-driven capabilities.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience developing and deploying AI/ML models.
  • Strong experience with supervised learning, feature engineering, and algorithm optimization.
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL.
  • Hands-on experience with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or Scikit-learn.
  • Experience working with Lakehouse architectures and modern data platforms.
  • Ability to design reproducible ML pipelines and workflows.
  • Strong understanding of data governance, bias detection, and responsible AI practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in Azure cloud environments.
  • Experience supporting federal or regulated data environments.
  • Experience with large-scale data processing platforms and distributed ML workflows.
