Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Database Administrator to lead the configuration, maintenance, and optimization of in-house software systems, network connections, and server environments. This role ensures the stability and performance of operational systems through proactive management, system upgrades, and technical leadership. The Senior DBA will support local and remote environments, troubleshoot complex issues, and provide direction to other system administrators to maintain operational continuity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, install, configure, and maintain software systems, servers, and network connections
- Lead system administration efforts, including performance analysis, capacity planning, and issue resolution
- Optimize system operations using automated tools, scripts, and defined procedures
- Deliver user support and training for end users and system administrators
- Provide recommendations for technology improvements aligned with business goals
- Manage vulnerability assessments and ensure systems meet security compliance standards
- Oversee deployment and maintenance of operational systems at multiple locations
- Apply advanced technical knowledge in application networking, load balancing, and fault tolerance
- Supervise other system administrators and ensure efficient system and resource usage
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline
- Minimum of 10 years of specialized experience in Information Processing, including 4 years of hands-on experience with software installation, configuration, and maintenance
- Proven experience with various software tools and utilities requiring privileged access
- Strong background in systems administration, troubleshooting, and performance optimization
- Experience in vulnerability management and maintaining secure environments
- Active DoD Secret Clearance with IT-I (Tier 5) eligibility at time of proposal submission
- DoD 8570.01-M Baseline Certification (IAT Level I)
